Finally, Hafjell can present the opening hours for Hafjell Bike Park this summer. Hafjell has over the years developed Norway’s best Bike Park– a Bike Park it is talked about around world.
‘’Visitor numbers have unfortunately not been responding to the costs. The visitor number must increase for the cost of the operation to be covered. The number of guests will ultimately determine the product’s future’’ says Thorvald Sverdrup, chairman of Alpinco.
Hafjell challenges the mountain bike scene
It has for some time been ongoing speculations in social media regarding the future of Hafjell Bike Park, with rumors of a possible closure. The interest has been massive and it is fantastic to see the commitment around Hafjell Bike Park. We hope the interest in using the facility this summer will be in proportion to the commitment shown lately. ‘’Hafjell challenges the bike scene: use the facility more – it is the only way to ensure the future of it. A notable increase in guests during the summer 2014, is necessary to form a foundation for continued operation in 2015’’ says Odd Stensrud general manager of Hafjell Alpinsenter.
The Skiing guests will not pay for the bike product in Hafjell.
Hafjell will deal with interest and demand and expect that the summer guests and not the skiing guests will cover the costs for the mountain bike product in the future
Opening season 2014 Gondola and Chairlift 2:
- Open all weekends from 14th of June to 7th of September. (Sat/Sun)
- Open daily from 5th of July and trough to 3rd of August.
- Extended opening hours in connection with the World Championships MTB 2014
